What is the Night of Philosophy

For the first time in Central Europe, the Night of Philosophy will gather on 16-17 June 2016 above 50 guests from France and all four Visegrad countries around the topic ”Images, Sciences and Politics”. Between 7 PM and 3 AM, at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and within the Trade Fair Palace of Prague National Gallery, you’ll be able to choose between lectures, debates, concerts, guided tours, readings and film screenings, and make your own program within this festival of philosophy around crucial questions: Should men be enhanced? How do we talk of the end of the world? What are today’s stakes of biopolitics? How do politics borrow body metaphors? Why should we think about environment? What do animals say about us? What are bio-ethics? What power do images have on us? And what are the images shown by our brain?
A program prepared by Anne Gléonec (Paris VII University) and Ondřej Švec (Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague).
