Jan Bierhanzl

BierhanzlJan Bierhanzl is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of contemporary philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences and assistant professor of philosophy and french language at Charles University (Prague). His main focus is contemporary French philosophy, especially Emmanuel Levinas, whose ethical thought he explored in his book La rupture du sens. Corps, langage et non-sens dans la pensée de la signifiance éthique d’Emmanuel Levinas (2014), and the relationship between ethics and politics—as in his last article, “Uprchlík, člověk a občan” (Protestant 1/2016).
