Jaromír Matějek

Fotka Hradec (3)Jaromír Matějek works as a researcher at the Institute of Ethics and Humanities of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Prague. He started as a paediatrician, and then studied theology, medical ethics and theological ethics in Brno, Prague, Vienna and Bochum. He is a member of the Commission for Ethics of the Ministry of Health, a committee member of the Czech Society for Palliative Medicine, and a member of the Working Group for Palliative Child Care. He specializes in clinical ethics and ethical counselling. As a second field of research interest, he focuses on the previously expressed wishes of patients and substituted judgement in general.
